I don't think that is true. I have Edius and Mync (although I don't use it that much). The update appears in the "news" section of Mync.
This thread was an earlier posting about Mync updates: https://forum.grassvalley.com/forum/...t=41380&page=2 See post #17 from Steve (Grassvalley_SL)

My answer was specific to an installation with EDIUS and Mync when the installed bundled version of Mync gives an update notification.
(Not checking the Mync standalone version site for updates)

I have Edius 8.53 and Mync. I opened Mync yesterday, and the update was listed there (see screenshot). It then sent me to the webpage I gave in my first post. I really don't see the problem, surely an update is an update? I didn't think there was more than one version of Mync Standard?

I have now opened Mync today and it tells me version 1.5 is avaialble.
Can someone please tell me if these messages are normal and OK to update? From previous replies from Anton and Steve, it would appear that such updates should occur only when Edius itself receives updates.

As I said before if the installed version that came with EDIUS gives an update notification is perfectly fine to update. Trough the offered link.
