Need to transcode Canopus CDVC DV files

I have some files from long ago that were captured with my DV Storm, which defaulted to encoding them with the Canopus codec (CDVC).

I'm running 64bit win10, so non of the codec's I've been able to find work. Is there any modern product that will view/transcode these files?

Log into your Grass Valley registered products account, and you will be able to download the Codec pack for Win 10 in the Utilities section.

If you haven't created your account yet, you can with the serial number of your Storm.

UNLESS you are installing Edius- if so DO NOT INSTALL THE CODEC PACK

Thanks for the response -- this is very promising. Unfortunately, this I'm registered with a DV Storm 2 which I guess doesn't give me the same downloads.

I see:

Drivers:

Canopus DV Driver (from 2007)

Utilities:

DVCapture Utility v1.11 (2006)
MPEGcapture for DVStore Utility (2003)
SoftMpeg v1.09 Update (2002)
Xplode for DVStore (2003)

None of these seem particularly promising for Win10 released in 2015 :)

Any idea how to get access to these Win10 drivers?

Dave,

Excellent point! Also, it would interesting to know of those old video files are Canopus reference files. The Reference File Manager utility may be needed to reconstruct them.

Thanks everyone for the help! Now I'm a little smarter and understand that moving those reference files was a Bad Thing. Jon helped me get them fixed up and now I can read the files in Edius!

For anyone who may have similar problem, Rob was able to use the refavimgr (Canopus Reference AVI Manager) utility to reconstruct his old reference files successfully.

Thought this should be documented in the unlikely event that someone else in the future has the same issue.

BTW, even though the utility was written in 2001, it works in Windows 10!
