Default All of a sudden Edius keeps crashing.

Hi all,
I'm hoping someone can help me out. I am using Edius 8.53 & until the other night it was very stable. Since then, i am having consistent crashes when trying to edit. It seems like it is only when i try to play particular clips. Seems like 4k .mov from a GH4 & .mp4 from a Canon XA 20 won't play. As soon as you try to, the program simply quits.
I checked to make sure Edius was up to date & it is.
I then updated Windows & that didn't fix anything.
I re-installed Edius, & that too hasn't changed anything.
Tried loading some other projects, & they too won't load, Edius simply crashes as soon as the program loads.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Regards,
Bryce

I would start by removing an incompatible VST plugin

[VST PlugIn]
Can not load GSinth2

Module path: C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VstPlugins\GSinth2.dll

Thank you Anton,
I removed the plugin but it's still crashing.
I made another system report (attached) but really don't have a clue where to look in that to try to diagnose myself what is going on.

Bryce

the error is still there, maybe you have not deleted the path to the faulty VST in system settings?

also, there is another error but it says unknown module

2019-04-29 12:05 AM Application Error Faulting application name: EDIUS.exe, version: 8.5.3.3262, time stamp: 0x5a96706e

Thanks again Anton,
I deleted the path to the VST plugins & tried opening another project but the same thing was happening. On a project i was able to open, the effects (Izotope effects) were replaced with dummy effects. Tried opening other projects multiple times, but no go.
The project i was able to open i still can, but as soon as i try to use any .MOV 4k footage or .MP4 footage, it crashes.

Try re-installing quicktime. Edius uses quicktime to decode MOV and some MP4 files. You may have a corrupt quicktime install.

Thank you BernH,
I just tried re-installing Quicktime & unfortunately nothing has changed. Still crashing, & with the projects that i can load, it crashes as soon as i try to play a .mov of .mp4 file.

Have you looked at Windows System Restore to see if you can roll back to before this happened?

Can you do the following?
Start EDIUS and create a new project at start up so nothing is loading.
Go to system settings->application-> profile and create a new user profile.
After you have created the new user profile exit the system settings.
Go to the settings drop down and then choose change user profile.
Select the profile you have just created and then save the project.
Exit EDIUS
Start EDIUS and load one of the older projects you have created.

Do the files play now?

Firstly, thank you for all the help.
Unfortunately, i have tried creating the new user profile and that didn't work.
To be clear, the projects i am having trouble with won't actually load. After clicking on them to load them, everything starts like it will in fact load, but before it does, Edius quits & i get the system crash report.
For the projects i can load, i can play HDV footage, & footage from my old Sony EX-3, but none of the .mov or .mp4 files seem to want to play nicely. I can import the clips, but as soon as i try to play one, whether that's in the source window, or on the timeline, Edius crashes.
