Default Edius seems slow to start up

I haven't done much editing recently, but Edius 8.53 seems slow to start up. It takes a full minute just to get past the Edius splash screen. Is that usual?

I have noticed a bit of a slow down generally with my PC since the Spectre / Meltdown "fix". I do regularly clean out junk on my system, but wonder if there is anything more I can do to get Edius to start up quicker?

can you list all third party effects/filters EDIUS needs to load during start

I have not installed the Spectre/Meltdown patches so can't comment on these

Think that loading a bit longer with the thirparty effects you listed is normal.

OK thank you. I am thinking about updating my system this year with a 9th Gen Intel processor, will that make much difference to this start up process?

I just tested on my system with Vistitle, Newblue TotalFX, Robuskey, Prodad Vitascene and Mercalli, Neatvideo Pro and several VST and it took 18 sec to get past splash

so an i9 should improve this further

Oh I forgot, I also have Prodad Vitascene and Mercali!

Even so the difference between your system taking 18 seconds and mine taking 60 seconds seems quite a lot? I have an i7-4770K (not overclocked)

Note: I use Win7 and have no antivirus installed and my CPU is overclocked
