You can still do BD using the mpeg option but the Other optopn is much slower as you will no longer have hardware support.
You will need a motherboard with quicksync to gey your speed for H264 back

If you plan on using TMPEG VMW5 for encoding then the CUDA engine on your graphics card should be available to you however the quality will be much poorer than Firecoder Blu or Intel Quick-sync. The only way to get BD compliant AVC streams out of Edius with hardware support is either via Intel Quick-sync or via the TMPEG AVC plug-in, the plug-in will give you access to your Firecoder directly from Edius 7 timeline and should give you access to CUDA but I have not tested this option. Your new graphics card on it's own will be of no use for BD encodes directly from Edius as Edius does not support CUDA.
Best Dave

It is used for GPU effects.

How long is the timeline
as a guess a 2hr BDr using AVC could take up to 7 hours longer Using the Mpeg option pretty close but near 2hrs plus 20 minutes for the burning I am not aware of any formula Obviously many things can affect the total time taken When support for FCB was stopped i really missed it and not till updating my PC did i return to normal burning speeds

Edius 7x only uses GPU for its internal GPU FX and this can be Nvidia or AMD nothing else in the Edius ecosystem will use GPU resources for any kind of acceleration. If you want to keep your FCB with Edius 7x then the TMPEG AVC plug-in is the only way and it will also give you access to more export options via the FCB than Grass Valley ever did, you will also have access to x264 direct from Edius 7x and possibly even the CUDA on your GPU so much more flexibility for all types of AVC coding.
If you move to a Z97 based PC system then you will get access to Intel Quick-sync which will also give you accelerated AVC encoding. Best Dave
