Default Can't update to E6.05 without physical dongle?

Just wanted to update a PC where the Edius license has been transferred to the harddisk. Installer refuses to update because it can't find a dongle. Seems like a bug to me. Opinions?

I think this is by design.

Hi Steve, since it's kind of risky to transfer the license back and forth I would say that a change of design will be a good idea ;)

Not really.
We need to check if you really purchased EDIUS for the update to work. Hence the dongle check. :)

Ok guys, got it: you just have to insert the dongle, no need to play the transfer game. Thank you.

correct, I transferred the license to PC as well because I need the USB slot, when I update, I just insert the dongle and then remove it again

I wish I knew how to transfer the vistitle license, that dongle is too fat for my liking

it's never a good idea to have time critical devices on a USB hub but I have run all my security dongles (a hand full) through it and never had an issue.
It's nice that my recently bought mobo has 16 USB ports :)

What would happen if the dongle gets destroyed or broken off? Would GV replace it?

That pops another question: what if the dongle snaps with the key still inside?

--I know... I heard ghasps in the room.
