whats with picking on Philip in all these threads - Feels like the poor guy is getting unjustified grief - this is a forum for discussion not personal attacks on people.

I don't know if this is directed at me or not since I was the last post, but I don't see any personal attacks. Phillip has just started training a couple of Broadcast stations and I am pointing out that what he stated was not what I had run into with my 5 years of experience in teaching with TV stations.

We all are continually learning new techniques regardless of how long we have used it. In the last month, I have discovered 2 different ways to do things that I had not thought of before. Both situations came from questions from people that were just starting to use Edius.

Knowing certain settings are critical if you are instructing other people that are just starting out with Edius as the knowledge you give them will be their base of learning the program.

Well, since you went there Mattie. Pat was very congenial in his reply, mine will get to the point. Besides, your post may have been aimed at me as well.

I feel If you are a trainer for broadcast you had better know the product up one side and down the other. No excuse!

I have taken the broadcast training. It is a full 8 hours worth of training for a completely different workflow.
Everyone on this forum should take it. It is worth the time spent for the things that you learn. Pat just happened to be training in my area and I went for the day. Pat, knows Edius. Believe me, it is scary how much he knows Edius.

If you are constantly reminding me of the fact that you are a trainer and making tutorials for eventdv, or anyone, well, that is just plain self serving and once again you had better know the product better than the next guy.

I guess my point is, If you don't know something, why risk ruining your credibility on a public forum when there are other channels that you could have used to get this information. It is on pages 200-201 in the reference manual for one.
I had the same gotcha a while back. I didn't notice it until I started to use Robuskey. I found out by way of a PM and I was off and running. Simple.

Mattie, I agree that it is a forum for discussion and not personal attacks. There are others on the forum that do tutorials and don't do shameless plugs.
Discussing is one thing, but constantly self advertising is another. Creating a tutorial and training users without fully knowing how to use the feature is just plain unconscionable.

Before this gets out of hand, let's just move on. Question was answered.
