Default HD spark HDMI computer monitor

I bought a Samsung PC monitor with a HDMI hoping I could make it do double duty as a edit monitor and a 2nd desktop display. When I set it up I noticed the HD spark wouldnt work. Is there a setting or it just doesnt work with those types of monitors?

should work fine if you set it as your preview device and providing project setting is 8bit

I don't think the HD Spark works with 7.1 surround sound (8 channel)

change your 8 channel project to stereo 2 channel and see if it works then

What is the model of monitor. Is it able to scale a HDMI input. Normally a PC will respond to whatever the monitor attached but I think that the SparkHD will just output whatever the project setting is and the monitor has to change to meet this. You may have to go into the monitor menu and make changes to meet the SparkHD output not the other way around.

One thing to try
Run C:/Program Files/Grass Valley/Edius 9/EDIDMonitor.exe
It should appear in the bottom right notifications, double click and it should give details of what your monitor is capable of

Hope it helps
