I discovered I made a mistake in the H.264 exporter parameters - I exported the video in 10 bits. That's wrong.

I have changed that to 8 bits and using Hardware Exporter - it is now taking 25 minutes to export a timeline of 56 minutes, using 6GB of memory.

I am now exporting a 58 minutes video using H.264 exporter - 1 hour 30 minutes to export 1 hour - the exporter that comes with EDIUS 9 - not the TMPGENC (still waiting for a response from them). It starts with 7.3GB RAM being used - and now after 10 minutes - Taskmanager says 7.53GB - very stable. CPU is 90%. 15 minutes now - memory still 7.55GB - the trace is a flat blue line.
there is no issue when exporting H264

the issue is when exporting mpeg2 or DVD

Default Use Process Explorer to monitor resource usage

If you are not very afraid of technology, you could try SysInternals' Process Explorer (not Process Monitor!) (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sys...ess-explorer):
Start it, then drag the crosshair onto the window you want to monitor to select the corresponding process. The use right mouse button and select "Properties" for the process being selected; a popup opens. From there you can see various details in different tabs, like resource consumption, performance graphs, etc. See the screen shot attached. Maybe that gives you an idea...
You can see Memory Usage, CPU usage, GPU usage, and I/O, at least.

and last one you can see that I no longer have real time when moving the cursor. it jumps, freezes or generally try to follow the cursor but with delay.
Also never had this problem before.
So can it be hardware issue?

George
Back at thread #21 you stated your Drives were 25% free and your memory is 8G and your C: drive is 128G
My laptop came with similar size SSD and memory and once I upgraded it to 16G memory and 256G SSD all problems disappeared

Once an SSD gets close to 80% full it will be highly fragmented, although everyone tells me this does not matter, going to the larger drive certainly fixed my problem

Also from your configuration I assume all your data, (Word and other documents) are all on the C: Drive? I keep all that on a separate disk and direct the programs to it in preferences in both the programs and Windows

May be of help
Regards Barry
