Default Failed to Open File when importing EX1 clips from Clip Browser

Hi All,
I have some clips taken with the Sony EX1 that play OK in Sony's Clip Browser but when I import them into Edius 5 they fail to import and I get "Failed to Open File" message. It then give me a directory path: BPAV\TAKR\clip name\clip name.XML. These clips play OK in the camera and other clips import with no problems. I also cannot directly import these clips into Edius. I have been using Clip browser for a year and this is the third time that I have got this message.
Can anyone help me with an solution to this?
Many thanks,
Ian

When opening EXCam footage, simply drag from the Clip Browser to the Bin.
All the magic is done in the background and metadata is preserved.

Thanks for your input and suggestions.
SR, I am using Clip Browser 2.5. I have used it for a while (6 months) with no problems. Prior to this I used version 2.0 for 6 months with no problems.

Rusty:
"When opening EXCam footage, simply drag from the Clip Browser to the Bin."
I have been doing this mostly sucessfully for a year now, however ther have been 3 occassions where I have not been able to drag the clip into Edius and I have not yet found a solution to this. The clip appears to be corrupted in some way, although it plays OK in the camera and the EX30 deck.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Is there any solution?

this error is becuase the metadata isnt being read properly

in these cases - simply drag the MP4 file directly into edius - this works just as well as using the XMP files

Thanks for your suggestion Matie but I cannot drag and drop all of the clip into Edius. Two of the three .mP4 files that make up this 30 minute CLPR folder will go into edius but not the third one. It appears to be corrupted though the camera gave no error message while recording it.

Are you reading your files directly off your SxS card, or is it a copied folder on your hard drive? You must use Clipbrowser to copy from SxS to HD. If not, some clips could be corrupted or you'll see dropouts on your footage. Did you use CB or did you drag and drop with Explorer?

Default same problem here

I am currently having the problem. I am using Sony clip browser 2.6 and this is the first time I have had the problem. The mp4 files appear fine. The clips that bawk at import have multiple folders and mp4 files. i.e. they are longer than the 3.5 gig filesize.

It's like an XML merge issue in Edius.

Again all worked fine for months and months, until just now. No upgrade of anything involved.

Occasionally I've had this problem.

Re-booting has mostly fixed it, sometimes I've had to export the problem file with clip browser and then import it into Edius.

Cheers,

Vaughan
