I worked with window 7 Service Pack 1 and I did the free upgrade to Windows 10 and Procoder (last version with the update) is working very well.

Are you still running QuickTime? Or have you found a workaround?

Procoder 3.06 worked in Windows 7 just fine.

Upgraded to Windows 10, all media players jammed won't open anything except VLC and Quicktime OK. VLC hasn't got CUVC codec built in so won't play GV avi's.

Reverted to Windows 7 all is well again with Procoder.

Went back to Windows 10.

Procoder Won't Launch and Media Player Home Cinema (MPHC) freezes as does WMP which has to be closed in task manager and neither will open a video. From the crashed MPHC Event viewer has PNXkernl error, or PNXkernel.exe which belongs to procoder. WMP posted no error in Event viewer apart from the silly server execution failed message. It seems like Win 10 is calling up the wrong playback codec.

Daum Pot Player (good for UHD and 4K videos on lesser GPU) wouldn't even open.

Dxdiagnostic fails at Direct show Dx12.

Uninstall Procoder all media players work normally. Dxdiag passes test.

Test System xw8600 32GB RAM dual X5492 4 core Xeon (2 more of these)

System 4 went well but didn't have Procoder installed.

Mike

Cool

I stopped using Procoder a long time ago so can't comment on that but most, if not all software I used on Win 7 works fine on Win 10.

I mentioned most as I replaced some old software with better alternatives.
For media player I use Splash and VLC, used to use MPC on Win 7.

From the "going back" I assume you did an upgrade in stead of a clean install....

I just found a relative new 5Kplayer, don't know yet what to make if that.

Does ProCoder install and run under compatibility mode ?

Win 7 compatability mode is the only thing I didn't try Tony. Will try when I upgrade the last workstation.

Yes it was an upgrade and everything else has worked fine, except I had to uninstall Tiger Technology MetaSAN as otherwise the upgrade took 11 hours with it installed. About 90 minutes without it.

MetaSAN allows PC's to write and read from a central hard drive RAID formatted in NTFS as if it were a local volume and update via the LAN the file allocation tables on each workstation so Windows is happy. It however locks out the local drives except C whilst it starts up which wouldn't help the install. I have the connection made via Atto HBA in each workstation, fibre optic cables, and a Q logic fibre channel switch.
