Default Edius 8 Trial Version

Hi.
I am interested in looking at Edius 8 pro and would like to try the trial version. Do I have to create another edius ID or can I use the one I have been using all along?

Thanks in advance

You will need a new one. We are told eventually the old information will be combined.

Thanks Dave, just another query if you have time. I have downloaded the trial version of E8, it looks good, but one thing is that when adding transitions it stutters when playing. On E6 it plays smoothly. I am using the trial version on Win 10. Any settings etc which I should be looking at?

Thanks

Gordon.

I haven't seen that on my system but I have only used 8.1 occasionally - one edit from 10bit source and the only other times - playing - (evaluating). ( I have caddies so drive swapping is a doddle)
As yet it offers nothing I cannot do in 7.5 but if I was going from 6 that would be different.

that can be caused by many things such as antivirus programs

in EDIUS, go to help menu, generate system report and attach it here, I can then see what you have running

Hi Anton,

I have created a system report on Edius 8, does it come to you automatically or do I have to do something with it?

Thanks

Gordon.

your PC has a few issues and is really under powered for 64bit EDIUS8 and Win10

1. you have a quad core CPU but hyperthreading appears disabled in BIOS, so you won't get 8 logical processors

2. you only have 4GB installed memory and your swap file is only 700MB

3. you have windows defender running, stop the service and set it to disabled

4. you have an unknown USB device, this could mean that some mobo drivers are missing, check in device manager for any yellow warnings of missing devices

5. your graphics card is way under powered with only 500MB ram

Just to point out one thing, his CPU doesn't have Hyper-threading, so it's not turned off in the BIOS it just doesn't have it. I don't think any of the Core 2 Quad range had Hyper-threading, but I can't remember all of them as they are from around 7-9 years ago.

As Anton said, your system is really underpowered for what you want to use it for, it might be time to look at getting a new system. Even the lowest end bespoke system from DVC will wipe the floor with your current one
