I am using it without issue. I must say though, it is installed on an X58 system with a Renasas USB 3.0 controller.
There have been reports of a wide range of problems with the Shuttle USB 3.0 on newer motherboards.
The device was designed to work with the X58 chipset.

Using it on my Laptop with an Intel controller as well as my Desktops which are also using Intel controllers. Not tried it on Asus boards, but seems to work well with Gigabyte and Clevo products

What I would really like to buy would be a Storm 3g elite. Grass Valleys policy of only selling the hardware with bundled Edius stops me. I already own Edius and the idea of buying it again just irritates me.

I need/want 1080 50p output to a monitor.

But according to the specs the shuttle doesn't do 1080p50 either

Yes I know that! But with the Shuttle I get input as well as output unlike the Spark card.

I use one on my desktop and Ultrabook, but exclusively for capturing analog and HDMI.

For $189.00 as compared to $5000, I can live with a 10bit interlaced output of a 10bit progressive product. I have the Storm 3G and if you played both back for me, I doubt I could pick out the progressive footage without doing frame by frame.

Which BMD Desktop Video version do the Intensity users here use? I'm still at 9.7.5 and had not the time to test 9.8 until now.

I have 9.8 on both my Intensity Pro and Shuttle. 9.7.7 was horrible. Whatever they did to 9.7.7 is fixed in 9.8.
