Default Error export h264 Quick Sync

Hello,

I installed windows 8 64 bits, the latest version of EDIUS 6.54 and my graphics card drivers AMD 6950 and also the graphics drivers HD 4000 (my chip is an i7 3770K).

When attempting to export with enabled hardware acceleration begins to export performed at a fast speed, but there comes a time when it stops and does not finish done.

If I look at the task manager while performing export Edius I realize it uses 100% of the processor and RAM reaches 3.087MB, to get to that point where export is made longer and the use of the microprocessor is to 0%.

If I disable hardware acceleration export occurs without problems but there is a speed increase when processed.

If I convert with MediaEspresso 6.5 Any file using the Intel GPU I have no problem.

If anyone can help me I would appreciate.

I believe Win8 comes with Microsoft Security Essentials (now called Defender) which is know to cause EDIUS export issues

is it enabled or disabled?

Windows defender is installed with windows 8 as a default but you cannot disable or uninstall it.

I always add EDIUS as an excluded process in Windows defender. Go to the start menu and type defender and windows will find the program. Once it is open go to the settings tab and choose "excluded processes" from the list on the left. Add in EDIUS by clicking "browse" and finding EDIUS which is in the Grass Valley folder under programs (x86). Add it in to the list. This may not help but is something I always do.

The other thing I can suggest is to make sure you have the latest Intel graphic card driver installed. We have had various problems with older drivers.

Other questions:
Do you have two monitors plugged in and set up correctly? The main screen plugged into the ATI card and the second screen plugged into the Intel?

Are you using Virtu? This is software which comes with some motherboards that lets you use the Intel card without having a screen plugged in. This causes crashes in EDIUS.

How much RAM have you allocated to the Intel card in the bios? I normally do about 300. Higher amounts sometimes affect other components. Lower amounts may not work (although I have never had it cause crashing).

I assume you have at least 8GB RAM in your system.

Thanks for the help but it has not worked.

I disabled Windows Defender and the same error occurs in the export.

Then I tried the second solution.

I added Edius.exe in excluding windows defender. I have updated the drivers from ATI and INTEL to its latest version. I have configured the ATI on the main monitor and the secondary INTEL. I have allocated 256MB to the graphics INTEL.

My machine has 16GB RAM.

The export fails.

what are you exporting when it fails? A H264/AVC file? or are you using Disk Burner and Blu-ray setting? If Disk Burner, you need to exclude that as well in Defender

I export to H264 for uploading to Youtube, I do as I have always done. If I disable hardware acceleration does so without problems.

I think the problem is that for some reason Edius crashes when consuming more than 3GB RAM. Before formatting I had not happened.

what is your EDIUS Buffer set to?

lowering the buffer value will allow more memory for the rest, try 128

I have established the value is 256 MB.

I've changed to 128MB but the same error still occurs.

I have not tried this with an ATI card and EDIUS 6.54, only NVidia and EDIUS 6.54. You could try removing the ATI and just using the Intel 4000 and see what happens. You have already tried my best ideas.

I think there was also a change in the Quicksync engine between 6.53 and 6.54. You could try going back to 6.53 and seeing what happens. This will be quite a lot of hassle since you will need to completely uninstall EDIUS, then re-install what ever full version you have and update to 6.53. I would try Anton's suggestion first.

Do you have any extra plug-ins installed? And if so have you updated to the latest versions of these since some have Windows 8 problems.

Thanks for the help.

I uninstalled the drivers for INTEL HD 4000 and Windows 8 installs a generic driver.

And of this form runs smoothly. I do not understand but it works.

If I install any official driver fails me to export.

This Edis 6.5 is giving me many problems and very little satisfaction. Each update is a nightmare.

I am convinced that with export Edius.6.53 run smoothly.

Many thanks for the help. Help the Grass Valley Service refuses to offer me.
