Can I use EDIUS 8.53 and EDIUS 9 on the same computer if I upgrade to EDIUS 9?

Yes you can use both EDIUS 8.53 an EDIUS 9 on the same system.

The EDIUS 9 trial has a watermark this is normal.

EDIUS supports PQ Bt.2020/2100 and BT 2020/2100 HLG

Is there any way to let a TV use an EDIUS 264 HDR stream via USB?

We confirmed Sony consumer HDR TVs can playback our H.264 HDR files via USB Memory.
The Exporter Preset “H.264/AVC MP4 8bit (xxMbps VBR 8bit 4:2:0)“ is suitable for the exporting.

(It is always a good thing to check the supported files for your TV model)

EDIUS cannot make my TV switch to HDR mode when I output via a BM card.
Unfortunately the current version EDIUS 9 cannot put any metadata onto the HDMI output signal.
However, if you use AJA cards like example: Kona 4, you can inject the correct metadata by using AJA Control Panel.
Sony consumer HDR TV's let you select HDR mode via the user menu by using the remote control.
(Panels from other manufacturers may not have the same functionality)
