Default Edius WG failed to connect to the server

I am running Edius 9.40.4896, and have had a couple if times where I get an error on startup saying Edius has failed to connect to the server. Clicking ok shuts Edius down, but I can start up again right away and everything is OK.

Anyone else notice this? I thought WG wasn't supposed to be trying to connect to a license server.

Perhaps there is a glitch happening with the license manager?

Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome.

maybe you ticked the option to report to GV when installing? I would uninstall it and reinstall, during install untick this option which is ticked by default

I may have jumped over that during install indeed. Good call Anton. I'll give it a whirl.

It only happened since installing this last update though, and I don't recall having to uncheck that option before, so I hope you understand my querying it.

yes, I always uncheck that option because whenever the GV server is down, you get the error you are experiencing

I see, the fact that there have been some major server/router outages in the north eastern US over the last few days could very well account for it then.

Thanks for the tidbit of info.

I just remembered that you can disable it without reinstalling from the help menu

Thanks Anton. That will hopefully save a bit of mucking around, not that an un-install and re-install is difficult or time consuming though. It only takes a few minutes, but a few seconds sounds better to me.
