Remember the main reason is that any fairly new machine will equal or surpass it. Really no new sales of it.

Only with QuickSync :) If you have an X79 chipset H264 won't be faster.

I don't want to get back into this argument but honestly do you consider that that is a reason for discontinuing support. I don't; neither do other owners.

Nice. Not only can Edius users now use their FCB boards from within Edius, but this also gives access to 2-pass VBR (though you can't have 2-pass VBR in combination with FCB acceleration). I'm also a little disappointed that there is no CUDA support.

To have CUDA support, please see at: http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/pr...4xp_spurs.html

Understood. I was hoping for CUDA support in the new TMPEnc Movie Plugin for Edius 6.5. The SpursEngine plugin is for CUDA support in other TMPEnc products and does not support TMPEnc Movie Plugin for Edius 6.5.

TMPGEnc Movie Plug-in MPEG-2 for EDIUS 6.5 has its own SpursEngine' s presets (DVD-Video NTSC, PAL; HDV-1 NTSC, PAL; HDV-2 NTSC, PAL; Blu-ray NTSC, PAL and GENERIC MPEG-2). I have also TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 5 and TMPGEnc Authoring Works 5 with TMPGEnc Movie Plug-in SpursEngine. I am queit sure that TMPEnc Movie Plugin MPEG-2 for Edius 6.5 is working with SpursEngine (Firecoder Blu) according its presets.

I'm aware of the SpursEngine support, I am lamenting the lack of CUDA support which is present in other TMPEnc products. CUDA support is a great way of off-loading and accelerating encoding which can leverage existing GPUs and doesn't require another dedicated board and investment -- it will even work with many GPUs in laptops.
