Default Canon XF-HECV H265 - Edius slow

I've just upgraded to Workgroup 9 and Its seems my PC can't handle the Canon 705 XF-HECV H265 format so well.

Making a simply cut or quickly scrubbing around the timeline is sluggish. Everything however with normal Canon XF305 recorded is fine.

I think a simple upgrade may be in order. I'm running Windows 10 64 bit, a 1060 card, 16 gig of ram with a an i7-3770k @ 3.50GHz 3.90 GHz.

Old processor the logical issue?

Thanks

Martin

h.265 is very compressed... and you need a fairly up to date pc to play the clips well.

have you got QS and have you enabled hardware acceleration for H265?

For using QS for the H265-codec you need an Intel CPU from the 6th generation upwards. The i7-3770k is not able to de/encode H265.

I guess you forgot this thread.

Look at Post #3.

This is a particularly hard codec to play in Edius.
