Default Audio Compressor

Just wondering which the best audio compressor is to use with Edius 5.6. A lot of times I hook into sound systems for audio and get too big a variation in volume, thus need to rubber band certain points. Please let me know what your experience has been with compressors and where I can download them.

Thanks,
Ted

Try a VST compressor, there are a few free ones out there a Google search should find them.
Or process your audio in something like Audition, Pro Tools or Soundforge, they do a really good job in the right hands.

Try the C3 Multiband Compressor

Although it's not without fault (within Edius) I use it daily with great results.
The presets re usually enough to get by.

Kjaerhus Audio also has a pretty decent (and free) compressor that works with any VST host like Edius:

Default Audio Compressor

Thanks guys. Looks like I have a lot of choices. I'll take a look at them and decide from there.
