can you confirm that quicktime player 7.7.9 is installed?
can you confirm that you have quicktime importer enabled?

Is this really an MP4 or an MOV with MP4/H264 codec used? Do you have quicktime installed? Is the quicktime importer enabled? If it's really an MOV you should have quicktime installed and enabled in Edius.

If it's really an MP4, Edius can open MP4 files. It's possible that there is something about the way that this file was created that is causing the problem. Without having the file to examine, or getting you to post results from loading the file into media info at least, no one will be able to tell you if you have a problem with the file.

More information please....
