Funny. Appears to be repeating pattern of lighter and darker bands, very visible in the rotor blades and the sky, but not in the chopper body or the lower right "bug."

exporting to mpeg2 Pal DVD from HD timeline bypasses downscaling resampling of Lanczos3 HQ (recommended)

so don't do it

always switch to SD (takes 1.2 seconds) and make sure Lanczos3 HQ is enabled in your SD preset

when done, switch back to your HD preset, takes 1.2 sec, tested when I do it slowly

Have same problem, to solve it just USE 10 BIT PROJECT SETTINGS BUT ITS WEIRD AND PROBLEMATIC. Never had such problem. It appears when exporting MPEG2 and 720x576 from 1080 footage and only with 8bit project!!!!!!! Its huge problem for me, agan I forgotten about 8 bit problem and wasted few hours exporting a movie.

It looks a bit like some type of aliasing, which could happen with some instances of down sampling and redigitization. Not unlike what can be seen with some scans of print media if descreen (or an equivalent setting) is not selected.

can you send me a small HD source clip for testing, I will then compare in 7.53 and 9.2

I have tested already with my XDCAM HD source clips and the result is fine, but is lacking the downsacling quality of lanczos2 which can only be achieved by switching to SD

yes, put it on some file sharing site like dropbox, onedrive, google drive, hightail etc

when I tested, I used 50i files as source

so 50p maybe a different animal and maybe the cause of your issue in 9.2

if I can repeat the issue, I report it, but in any case, you should switch to SD prior to export in order to get good downscaling by enabling Lanczos3 HQ in the SD project setting, much better than exporting direct from HD timeline

from what I see you placed 50p files in a 50i project and then you export to 50i SD direct from HD timeline???

also, confirm the default slomo handling? this is very important when frame rates do not match, in your case, frame rates do not match

I loaded a smaller clip

I know that the frame rate does not match but I want to respect the DVD standard
