Default Edius 6 Install on XP x64

Just a comment... It's disappointing that Edius 6 won't install on XP x64 as Edius 5 would.

Oh well.

Edius_5 was never supported on XP-64bit

if it runs (most with problems), it was your own risk to work with a unsupported OS.

As much as I loved XP, it's time to let it go, it's amazing as it was that it was backward compatible for longer than a decade.
Embrace Win7, if difficult switch off all the areo it will help with the transition :)

Seriously, I always hated vista and was tricked into trying 7, I didn't like it much and went to XP, curious after a while still tried it again and finally gave in. (now glad I did !)

I rather have the combination Win7 & E5, than XP & E6 :)

Windows XP 64 was NEVER a supported system in the first place. You run your production system at your own risk.

As I said... just a comment. Edius5 runs fine on my XP x64 notebook, just wish the Edius6 installer didn't limit the install. I've got 25 systems running x64 all working to bring checks to the mailbox and I don't switch OSs lightly for the hassle of upgrading OS & apps. Eventually, I'll have to do it... but not yet.

Thanks!

I really really really really don't recommend it... but back when I did run XP 64-bit, I had to use Orca to hack the iTunes installer...

It's one of the reasons I moved away from XP 64-bit - got tired of having to hack stuff so it'd install. :)

Thanks for the ideas on this Brandon... I may look into this possibility.

Thanks again.

Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any MSI used in the installer.

Thanks anyway!
