Default Edius 9: how to make audio channel mapping for 5.1 sound?

Hi, I use Edius Workgroup 9 to make UHD videos. I always made a stereo soundtrack (2 channels) but I'd like to make a 5.1 audio system. How could I make the audio channel mapping for 5.1 sound? Do you have some pics to understand better? Thanks for some info.

You will need to decide which export format you will be using prior to setting up your desktop. I have my timeline setup for .wav export. I can change the channel map to export to .mp4 very easily. But, to get the file to re-import into Edius from a different program, I have to import it back into Edius as a .wav file. Setting it up as shown in the video will allow you to import the file back as an .mp4.

I usually master my 5.1 files into a single .wav file. The .wav AC3 setup order is different from the .mp4 setup.

I will make it the next days. Out of curiosity: when you export 5.1 sound from Edius timeline, then do you listen a really good sound or do you listen a better sound with 2 channels stereo?

I monitor by 2 channel, but you can select and listen to each channel separately through a 2 channel system with Edius.

I don't think you'll have much fun as Edius creates incorrect 5.1 mapping. It is cumbersome and poor - work with something like Audition for correct results or invest in a professional DAW.

Good luck!

Paul :-)
