Default The Cinematic 21:9 Aspect Ratio

Instead of putting black bars on the top and bottom of my videos, how can I export using 21:9 ratio? I have tried several times and cannot export it. I am sure I am doing something wrong in the settings or on the export. Thank you in advance.

Hi Anton, the original footage is 4k dropped in a 1920x1080 timeline. I searched the web and one person stated the pixel dimensions should be 1920x803 for the cinascope look.

I just accomplished what I wanted by using quicktime and in settings set it to 1920x803 however, I do not think quick time supports 4:2:2 10bit does it? I am using gh5s footage shot at 10bit 422 color space.

It's not the way to work with from my view. Also, the most codecs are supporting dimensions of multiple pixels of 2, 4 or 16, especially for 4:2:2 codecs!
I would do my work at native DCI scope resolution and would use the desired project template. You can later than export to 1920x804, not 803 though!

Andreas

It's correct:

DCI 2K Scope: 2048 x 858 (2.39:1)

If you apply 2.39:1 AR to a 1920 width image - you get 803.3347.... but to get most codecs to work, as stated, you must make the height 804 pixels.

Paul :-)

One other question. When I choose DCI 2K Scope: 2048 x 858 (2.39:1) it gives me the I believe 23.98 or 24fps. If I shoot at 29.97 and change the setting will that affect the video in anyway? Thank you in advance.
