If you aren't happy with results, do the edit and get the sub clips converted, if that results in shorter sections.

Send me a sample and I'll put it through Alchemist for you as a test if you like.

Paul :-)

Glad we could help.

Just for clarification, what route did you choose to follow?

the 23.98 footage on a 23.98 timeline and exporting with a 23.98 over 59.94i with 2:3 pulldown framerate setting

Exactly what you suggested. It's going to get the job done. I'm encoding the files now. When I tested it on the time line interlaced, it looked awesome.

I usually keep it P for the studio I'm working with for this project, but they are fine with I, so there it is :)

TY!!

Smashing. As I said above, that is the correct conversion from 23.98 to 29.97. I do it all the time on finished 23.98 projects for delivery to North American broadcasters, although I don't use Edius for doing it. I use Edius at home, but at my day job it's Media Composer doing a hard 3:2 pulldown instead of the soft pulldown from Edius.

24 is for cinema projection
23.98 is for video
29.97 is for video
30 is useless and is a format used by mainly apple iphones and ipads (so never use it)

how about tv, dvd player, bluray player? when you edit video which frame do you choose.

They are very close, you can not see the difference, right. Thanks Anton
