Default firecoder blu

hi friends,

i have an extra pci express slot for a firecoder blu. is buying a firecoder blu a better idea than upgrading my existing intel Q9650 , 8gig 1066 ddr2 ram to an I7 setup?

right now edius stutters with vitascene or new blue FX in realtime which is annoying when im trying to sync the audio with video. Will the firecoder fix that or is an I7 processor the way to go?

Thanks,
Chris

Hi. The FireCoder Blu is a transcoding card only and as such will provide zero performance increase for editing in EDIUS.
Time for an upgrade.

I upgraded my system to SandyBridge and it is faster than FircoderBlu transcoding so I did not install in the new system. I upgraded from Q9450. The old system would not run Edius 6 so I went back to Edius 5.5. New system will run several tracks of AVCHD native I am happy.
