Default Help can't place any audio on timeline

I'm using ver 3.30. I have some video clips with attached audio that when I try to drag from bin to timeline it won't allow me to place the audio track on the timeline, only video. If I open previous versions of the same project all is fine. What setting could I possibly have changed for it to not accept any audio?

All audio tracks are unlocked and all settings seem normal. I can put other audio on the timeline (such as music tracks). Did the version just get corrupted somehow?
Seems odd, as I was only doing simple editing when the problem occurred. Never had anything like this happen before.

Any help would be appreciated.

Bill

Does E3 allow audio mapping? I don't think so.
I recall a setting restricting A/V import from the bin.
Look for a tickbox.

Hard to remember back that far. This is your newer version?
Is there an orange V and A right above the center of the timeline? If so play with them a bit (toggle on and off).

Dude, you nailed it!!! I'm impressed and I owe you one. Nice memory. I must have inadvertently clicked on the orange A without even realizing it. Don't even know why its there.

Thanks again,
Bill

FYI, channel mapping was introduced in v3.x.
