Default Activating EDIUSv7

I have been reading postings on the forum about activation and deactivation. Which seemed clear until I read a recent posting that a new restriction has been placed on the number of times you can deactivate the software - being only twice.

So, am I correct in thinking I can legally install EDIUS on my PC and a laptop and activate both at the same time? Then, as long as only once copy is in use at a time, they will both operate without restriction? I assume this is controlled by some kind of online validation process?

So what happens if I am logged out from my PC, and I am away on a shoot where there is no internet or wifi connection, and I want to use EDIUS on my laptop? Will it work ok without having to go through any validation, activation or deactivation?

I have a question too regarding a somewhat different licensing situation. I have a new computer which I have installed Edius 7. However due to issues with the computer it is being returned within the manufacturer's return period..

I will obviously wipe the computer clean, but should I deactivate Edius before doing so? Thanks.

If your laptop is activated correctly before your travel it will work.

Hi I had Activating issue with Edius 6.5 for three months and I had been talking with GV Australia to sort out the problem without success. Then out of pure desperation I talked to my dealer who put me in contact with Corsair Solutions who within a couple days found the problem explained what had happened. I found out that GV have changed the Activation requirements due to Software piracy issues. The support offered by GV Australia help desk in manifestly inadequate and they where unable to explain or resolve my Edius software problem.
If I had to rely on GV Australia support I would have dumped Edius because of the support . To the moderator of this forum why lock up a thread on the subject that could help users understand what is happening?

I have been informed that I have reached the Hard limit of deactivation's which now means I can not move my license to other hardware. I wanted to see if working with 3D vision was any better in version 7. The problem is when I downloaded the Edius 7 Trial version for testing, during the install it detects that I already have an existing version and will not allow you to proceed unless it deactivates the existing version. The issue is that having reached this so called hard limit the Edius 7 install bombs out with a deactivation error and will not allow you to install.

Question to Grass Valley how can I assess the new version 7 if it will not load?

To others on this forum use caution on how many times you use the deactivation or you find yourself in this situation.

What a crazy registration system that will allow, I am not impressed.
