Export>Print to File choose H.264/AVC on the left side. On the right choose the same.
Set the bit rate desired and export.
mp4 file that is 16x9 as it should be.

Jim.

It's M2TS because you are using the BD export option. Try Reading the pre-set list when choosing destination format, it really is quite intuitive if you take the time to look. You may want to do a little bit of google time, and learn the difference between codecs, formats, and wrappers/shells. This would allow you to understand the Edius output/exporter and what to use and when.

Dave i was needing it to be mp4 for client, so when pat said to export using H.264/AVC
i didnt see any setting there for mp4 which is what i wanted. i was understanding that he was directing me to this to do an mp4. i take it my client cant put the m2ts in his cmpter and do any changes with it?

Jim.

M2TS, MP4 etc. are just containers that may or not contain specific multiplexing data. In your case they will both contain the same h.264 video data. Typically someone would ask for MP4 as they may associate it with Quicktime. Depending on what they have on their system, they may well be able to use the M2TS file. Try using the free VLC player. This is a self contained player that comes with its own library, and can play many extensions, including MP4 and M2TS. This can also get around the gamma issue that can happen with QT. But have a good google session on these things, it will help you in the future.

Hope this helps.

Dave.
