Default HDR/SDR gain and Tone Mapping

What does HDR/SDR gain and Tone Mapping do in the Project Settings setup?

I mainly edit content captured from analog tapes and ProRes film scanned files?

Do these effect me or do I leave them at default?

Also, I had a new computer built just for Edius, do I need to install Quicktime?

Tone Mapping and HDR/SDR Gain can be used if you have HLG footage and want to grade that to SDR in a BT 709 project. In this case you bring down the highlights with Tone Mapping = soft clip and you can adjust the gain.

So you can disable that in your project.
