Default Edius 7 record to tape

I have Edius 7 linked via firewire to a Sony HVR M15E.
My problem is that Edius refuses to recognise the recorder when I try to record to tape. When I input clips from the same machine it works perfectly both in batch and continuous. Checking device manager it appears/disappears when I switch the Sony on or off. In device manager I see the Legacy driver OK. Record to file is also ok.
I have a second Sony HVR M15E which does exactly the same. This set up has worked ok for several years .
Kind regards
Chris

so what happens when you press rec on the recorder and play the timeline?
is project 1440x1080 50i?
if you use print to tape, you need to have a correct device preset

Default Edius 7 record to tape

Good morning from UK Anton. What would Grass Valley do without you for all these years!
In answer to you:
nothing is recorded on my machine when playing back the timeline.
Yes, I am trying to record in 1440x1080.
batch capture/capture works fine so it is obviously recognising the machine.

I think they would be very relieved and have a party to celebrate
