Default Storm 3G - Not working with Edius 7 Pro after update??

Thought I'd post here to see if anyone has had any problems with their Storm 3G after installing Edius 7.

I've been using Edius 6.54 with my Storm successfully and this afternoon I decided to upgrade. I uninstalled 6, and installed 7 and the update which seemed to go fine, but the Storm wasn't there as a device.

I looked at Computer Management and there is a little exclamation mark next the Storm 3G entry and it says "This device cannot start (Code 10)"

Any ideas!?

Reinstall EDIUS 7 and let it do it thing.
Most likely a driver issue.

sometime it needs start the HardwareSetupTool.exe manually from the Edius 7 folder

path and file .. look at the picture

behind this ... restart PC. ...like More4K said
without restart the PC... will not work

if anyone switch (dual-boot) on one Storm 3G between 6.5 am 7.xx
(in cause to available Plug-Ins) have this to do, behind any switch...

I don't know if it is different for 6.5 to 7.0, but going from 6.0 to 6.5 required the driver to be reinstalled and the firmware changed with that driver.

That's why I asked to reinstall EDIUS 7 because IIRC correctly we flash certain of our hardware boards for EDIUS 7 compatibility and install the drivers accordingly.

I have the Storm 3G Elite, the big I/O box.

Firstly I find the PC has to go through a power off not a soft restart to read the new NVRAM set up in the GV hardware, I note the LED doesn't go out on the I/O box until the PC completely powers down. In other words all the power has to be removed for it to start up in the new hardware code.

Now I got into exactly the same difficulty that in device manager it had the yellow exclamation mark on the hardware. I tried to reinstall the hardware but it wasn't having it with the 7.2 installer.

So I found the hardware driver for Edius 6.54 and installed that and powered down & rebooted. No exclamation mark but no good for Edius 7 obviously. Locate hardware installer for Edius 7.2 and install that. Power off PC and reboot.

Hey presto we are there, and been OK ever since.

Mike
