Sending PLs to an External Drive

We get an unspecified error when trying to sending PlayLists to an
external drive via the APP Center using the QuickTime setting.

We are able to send individual clips just not a PL.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There are currently two workarounds. One is to baseband record the playlist back to yourself, clip it and Send. The other is (available in Dec.2013) IF you have a Dyno S panel, run EDIUS on the Dyno S panel, and drag the Playlist out of the asset folder onto the Timeline and render either back to the Summit or to the external drive.

If using dissolve transitions between clips in the Playlist, the transition is handled by the FPGA processor and is a render-to-air, not a render-to-file and then play the file. Even when this feature of Flattening a playlist to clip and then export gets code support, the playlist will still only have cuts. From what I can tell, this is slated for Mid-2014.

Hi, when i tried to send a PL to an external hard drive why it would take much time before external hard drive received it. Sometimes it fails and hang up!

What is the format of the external drive? IF it is fat32, files cannot exceed 4Gig, and are you using USB 2 or 3? I achieve 400mbs on a USB 3 drive.

Also, are large clips able to export fine, but PLs fail?
