Yet another NEW PC BUILD thread
Hello all, we're looking to upgrade our 10 year old PC's equipped with I7 920 CPU and Edius v5.x to something a bit more recent. Yes, they are ancient! Edius will be upgraded to v9 Workgroup and I'm asked to configure a PC for our editing stations. We mainly use MXF format files. I basically need some assistance in deciding which CPU/GPU combination to go with, needs to be relatively future proof since we seem to be upgrading once every decade...
Xeon W2123 paired with Quadro P2000 I7 9700K paired with RTX 2060 Ryzen7 3700X paired with RTX 2060 Super The last one is $300 cheaper than the other two but I don't know how Ryzen 7 reacts with Edius. I can also swap RTX 2060/Super with Radeon RX 5700 XT if need be, since they are similar in price. All other components will be the same, 1TB SSD, air cooled, 600W PSU, 16GB RAM etc. Thanks in advance! |

I just got a used pc with the ryzen 3700x build you mentioned with 32 gb of ram. I'll tell you how it goes
