Default Edius 9 & Neat video 4 - No Longer Top of Stack?

Hello,

Is it me or does Neat Video v4 no longer need to be at the top of the filter stack to get proper color? Could I get official word on this?

Yesterday I was applying the filter and realized the image looked consistent weather or not the filter was on the bottom of the stack or top.

Thanks and good news if this is true.

I think Neat V4 and V5 need to be at the top of stack above layouter. That is the instruction on the Neat site which I have always followed. https://www.neatvideo.com/support/qu...-guides/nv5/ed

Give it a shot and see if the color changes on your system. In Edius 8 I would get a large hue shift. In Edius 9 the color seems to be unchanged if I alter the order. I will check it again as I just noticed it yesterday.

It still needs to be at the top before the layouter. I have been using it on a lot of 4x3 clips on a 16x9 timeline and if it is after the layouter they are no longer scaled properly.

Best practice is to still put it on top. As Tim observed there are some situations (clip types and function) that it will not make a difference. I just had some of those. But it is better to be safe.

Thanks Pat. I thought the same thing - better to be safe and leave it on top. I am using Panasonic AVC-Ultra clips and it seems to be working throughout the stack.

Pat, BTW, I have a thread in the Lounge area regarding hardware effects on the speed of Edius. Any way you could weigh in with any insight? Thanks.
