Default Edius starting bug? (with work-around)

This would happen on rare occasions with previous version of Edius but with v9+(WG) it's happening almost every time I open Edius.

I double click the Edius icon, or a project file, and an EDIUS process will start and show in the Windows Process Manager but no GUI interface will start. Not the loading window and not the program itself. Since I know this already, and have figured out a work-around, what I have been doing is immediately after double clicking Edius, I go to the Windows task manager and end the Edius process. THEN I double click whatever I want and Edius will open properly.

Also, after exiting Edius, the process doesn't close and every time I exit Edius, I have to end it's process in the task manager. (THIS never happened before v9)

I can't confirm it's a "bug" until someone else reports that they have the same issue.

Why not? I've been doing this for about 10 years now.

because this resets the interface to factory default and your user profile will not be loaded so you maybe missing keyboard shortcuts and other customizations

the user profile is only loaded if you start EDIUS with the EDIUS icon

Maybe my use of this for 10 years can debunk that? My profile works fine. All my custom keyboard shortcuts, layouts, settings... everything works fine when starting Edius from double clicking a project file.

that is strange, which OS are you using?

I am using Win7 and as soon as double click an ezp, EDIUS opens with factory default layout and even displays TC and VU meter on external monitor, crazy

The only operating systems I've worked on with Edius are XP Pro and 7 Ultimate. Both x64

also, when a crash happens and I click yes to loading the auto recovery file, the interface is reset and often hours of work are missing

I have not tried this in a long time, since I got used to a different workflow of opening the newest autosave file instead, and the maximum work lost is 3min

I NEVER use the option to open "last recovered file" since I learned that it does NOT open the last saved file. I go into the "backup" and "autosave" folders and check the "date-modified" property and open the last one that way. This always works.
