Default installing intensity pro 4k after installing edius 9

How does one correctly install a intensity pro 4 card after edius has been installed? Is it just a matter of installing bmd's latest "Desktop Video 10.9.7" software or do I need to do something else to make sure edius 9 wg can use the card?

From memory, install & reboot then open Edius. The IP4K device should show up in Edius settings->hardware->preview device. If IP4K is a new install then device presets need to be set up.

Control panel 'BM Desktop Video'. maybe set NTSC or PAL and preferred inputs etc

I just got the card and installed it, seems only their Desktop Video software needs to be installed and that's it, it shows up in edius 9 after that and the card sets the right outputformat automatically. Too bad edius 9 doesn't support my hdspark eventhough grassvalley says it is supported, whatever I do I can't get my spark card to work. I even started "HardwareSetupTool" which recognizes the card and says updates are ok, my hardware manager also says all is fine but as soon as I select the card in edius I have to shut down the pc by holding the powerbutton down, it keeps locking up my entire pc. I just installed it back into my old pc so at least can get some use out of it as backup.

At least with the BM Intensity Pro 4K you can use with EDIUS, Vegas and Resolve. They all work nicely on my system.

I have installed resolve but it seems like a complicated program, will stick to edius for the time being :) at least I can use other resolutions then HD 25p only when outputting to a tv. While searching the internet for more info about this card I saw quite a lot of complaints about the small ventilator on the card being very noisy but I don't even hear it, guess they must have used a more silent one now.

The fan was very noisy when it first came out but it was changed after they updated the drivers a few months after release. So it is now not a problem.
The one problem we have with the IP4K is that if you capture through component the brightness levels are not quite right. Otherwise everything else is ok.
This is obviously bad if you need to capture through component but otherwise not a problem. Blackmagic promised a fix but that was about a year ago, so I would not hold your breath.

Yeah, I read about users feeling a plane was about to lift off after they installed the card so I"m glad they fixed that :)

That is good to hear about the fan noise issue being resolved.
