Default AC3 audio?

can Edius 6.5 read AC3 audio? I just find that my footage ( SONY 1920 AVCHD) when put on timeline, video is ok but no audio! need conversion?

it should read it providing you have some sort of ac3 decoder installed like a software DVD player like Total Media Theatre, PowerDVD, Nero etc
