Default Full screen preview?

Hi,

I am a newbie to Edius, and I have just installed the Edius 5 trial.

Is it possible toggle a full screen playback on the PC monitor?

not like in vegas or premiere - you have to make the edit/output windows full size manually (since they are always at full rez you will get a very good idea of final output too)

Thanks,

I have been using Avid Liquid and the full screen preview is a good thing to have. Perhaps it might be in Edius in the fututre?

yea Edius is far from perfect - but for all its missing points it wins out EVERYTIME for realtime performance and getting the job done.

I am quite certain that you will see that function in Edius in the near future.

Full screen playback would be nice, however, I would think that an EDIUS user would at least have an HDSpark (It's not that expensive) and have it connected to a consumer-ish LCD monitor for full screen playback.

Now for laptop users, I could totally understand. Would be a nice feature to have.

Yeah, lets not forget Edius does do full rez full screen playback through the use of an HDMI source via HDspark. I use Edius for every gig I get. I love it. You cant beat the real time performance and stability. The HDSpark/Edius combo is about 100 dollars more then Edius standalone. that will allow you to hook edius up to any lcd TV and most 1080p native rez lcd monitors with HDMI. Hope that helps

How about a HD Spark for laptops? Is that coming soon?

The reason I asked the question is that I recently ditched 2 monitors for one 24" widescreen (probably a mistake).

I have been using Avid Liquid which has a full res, full screen overlay you can toggle on and off. I don't use it for judging the quality, but to show any clients who are with me, a preview on a larger screen.

Even Avid Media Composer can do a full screen overlay.

I just want to compare features during my trial of Edius, before I decide to buy it.

save the edius current layout and call it "your name"

switch edius preview mode to single monitor

drag the remaining window to fill the screen

save the current layout and call it full screen

when done showing your clients, apply the "your name" layout

you can then quickly switch layouts with keyboard shortcut
