Default The saga continues...

Ok, Iīm back. unfortunately not with good news.

My deck (Sony DVW-2000P Digibta) is not recognized by Edius, hence the TC problems as stated by you, Pjsssss.

When I Check for the deck ID, I get the value: B104, and the VCR field underneath stays blank and greyed out. I havenīt been able to figure out the B104-code...

I just received a new RS422 cable today, just to rule out that the cable somehow was the reason. Well, doesnīt seem that way.

Hi Erik,

I will ask the engineers to have a look at this.

Hello,

As far as I know:
When TC is written to the deck with 9pin control, TC information is transmitted through 9pin usually.
Could you change the setting of deck to record LTC from 9pin?

Yes, VITC is embeded on SDI, but LTC of 9Pin is often recommended.
Especially, SDI of DigitalBetacam might come off from the current standard SDI because it is the initial one.

Hi Sahara,

Thank you for your input! Your thoughts are correct, as far as I know as well. I have tried VITC and LTC in the available combinations, and it did not make a difference. I had to return the Storm 3G to the reseller, and reinstall the Spark for Edius and the AJA Kona for output to my digi. A week + a weekend of trial/error, talking to support etc. was my limit, Iīm afraid

Here I must say, that so far Storm 3G is supposed to be counted as a pro card, itīs not good(in my world, not acceptable) that a vital function as RES422 doesnīt function with one of the most sold Digi VTRīs in Europe.

On top of that, I have to critisize the audio preview hookup. Internal analog connector!??!!? Ehh - didnīt work for me, I had absolutely no sound from the card. This issue I put to rest quite early in the process, since RS422 was more vital and the audio for the deck was embedded in the SDI anyway. Shouldnīt be that hard to give us the regular mini jack out, or an SPDIF out!?
