Default Trouble exporting mp4 H.264 \ Intel Graphics HD 4000 [SOLVED]

Have been using an mp4 preset for years with Edius 6.07 and never had a problem. Since yesterday, Edius will either crash (sudden close) or get stuck during the export. It happens only on exports that are longer than one hour. The same export can get stuck every time at a random position... sometimes %7, %15, %75...

I even rendered the whole timeline (SHFT-Q) and that didn't help.
I exported a Canopus HQ file (doesn't crash), imported it into a new project and tried to export to mp4 from there... same problem.

I didn't install any codec packs or anything that would mess up the codec on the computer so any idea what could be wrong?

Looks like some Mpeg plugin error?

I have had the same problem running 6.08 and finally noticed the CPU was overheating, cleaned the radiator on the water cooler and all was well.

Don't think that's it. My temperatures are fine.

Ok, I read every thread about this on Edius and nothing helped so I started researching "crash export mp4" and there are people that have this issue with Premiere, FCP, etc... I'll try some solutions that helped others with those NLE's (like fixing registry permissions etc...) I'll keep this post updated.

EDIUS uses the hidden temp folder on C drive username/appdata/local/temp, if this drive is near full, you could expect such issues

also, clear the temp folder daily

Thanks Anton. You and the other users users don't know me so just a little background about myself, I am a computer engineer and programmer so obviously I tried all the basic steps before I posted. 500 GB SSD is half empty and tmp folder is always clean.

I am pretty sure it's the Intel Graphics HD 4000 driver that's causing this. I actually DID update it recently and don't think I had long exports since.

I had version 10.18.10.3958 at the time of this post. Now I updated again to the latest - 10.18.10.4058 but that makes the problem worse - when exporting mp4 the export percent won't even start and EDIUS is stuck and needs to be shutdown with "end process".

I rolled back to -10.18.10.3958 and now export starts but gets stuck randomly during export - same as my post.

This proves that the Intel Graphic HD 4000 driver is the issue.

I think the solution is to roll back to the earliest version my system supports - 9.17.10.2932 (from 2012) but I was having Windows issues doing so last night. I will figure this out today or tonight I'll restore my computer to an "EaseUS Todo Backup" image from two weeks ago that I know has this version.

I will keep you updated.
