Default hp laptop for avchd editing

looking to get a laptop to edit avchd footage.
will the i5 processors handle it well, if so how much can i do layer wise etc, or will it cough bad.
trouble finding an hp i7 laptop

If you have a look at: -

This is a Company in the UK who have been building and selling editing systems for years and on this page they quote on a HP.

If you are not in a desperte rush I'd wait a while until Sandybridge based laptops come onto the market and proved themselves as editing stations.

Jim, What is your price range? George is building a heck of a laptop with extreme chips and raids built into the unit. This comes at a price though.
