"Life's good" (LG) for you guys but don't overlook the new 8X BD-R from SONY. I have the 4X SONY and it's preety sweet.

True Mark, but it costs a lot more for the "temporary" advantage. If it's like DVD, the speeds will skyrocket while the priced plummet in short order.

The other thing to keep in mind is that burning at high speeds is detrimental to the disk quality. I never write at the maximum speeds supported by my burners or media -- DVD media that is certified for 8x burn speeds I will typically write at 6x or even 4x.

My Plextor DVD burner supports burning many media faster than their rated speeds, and to me that particular feature is of absolutely no value.
