If you like QS export you have to use the Pegasys x264 Plugin that also supports QS as renderer. Pegasys TMPGEnc also works with the current Intel drivers.
You can't install the plugin in E8, you have to install E7 and copy the plugin to the E8 plugin folder. Maybe they fix the installer at Pegasys, maybe not.
Hope GV fixes the QS bug, I already started a thread about that here...

But honestly, since the 4770 Haswell we didn't see a real performance improvement from Intel. Even 4770 wouldn't be interesting without the gain in the QS engine over the 3770...
Sorry, forgot to mention that the TMPGEnc plugin doesn´t export UHD or 4K using QuickSync, only FHD/2K is possible.
So I see no chance to export UHD/4K from EDIUS using QS on a Broadwell or Skylake until GV fixes the bug.

Now, in France, 6700K is out of stock everywhere.
Perhaps for a long time ( many weeks or more ?)
Is it possibe to get a 6700 (no K) without a significant loss ?
And is Quick Sync available on 6700 ?

The 6700 does have quicksync, although it doesn't work in Edius yet due to it having newer drivers for the Intel GPU.

You may want to look around. A couple of our suppliers originally told us that they wouldn't have stock until early November, but then got more in 2 days ago, and one of our big distributors who keep a lot of stock in mainland Europe are expecting 10,000 6700K CPU's on the 26th Oct according to their tracking system.

I've been using the trial version of Edius 8.10.118 with an I7 6700K based HP PC and Quick Sync seems to work well for X.264 export. A 2:23:10 BluRay export took about 35 minutes with the CPU's running at about 27% utilization.

I wish Edius supported mpeg-2 output using Quick Sync. The CPU based export takes about 17 minutes for DVD.

Now, I test a new station : 6700K, W10 optimized, GTX970, Edius 8.1 WG : BMD Intensity Pro 4K.
footages : UHD - XAVC long gop/Sony X70
Project HD 1080/50i 8 bits : 5 to 6 layers in RT.
Project UHD 2160/25p 8 bits : 2 to 3 layers in RT.

What CPU did you have before this one? I would be interested to know how much faster a 6700k can render out to a mp4 using quicksync compared to a 4790K.

I can test an export 30' FHD to mp4 for example.
I still used a 2600K.

Test QS with 6700K :
Project : FHD 1080i- Pal
Footage : FHD 1080i - Pal - 30'
Export H264/AVC : FHD (settings: see .png)
SSD1 : 256 Go : OS/pgm
SSD2 : 1To : video materials
W10 - MB: Asus Z170 - GTX970 - Intel Graphics 530 (driver: 10.18.15.42.56)

Export duration with QS : 5'33"
Export duration without QS : 37'

Thx, that seems pretty quick, a avchd file takes about 11 minutes to export in my case.
