Nope, no overclocking. Overclocking does ... bizarre things with the timer and causes really, really strange behavior in Edius. Not sure what that's all about. I discovered that really late last night, so I haven't investigated yet.

This is what my 4790k can do with GH5 4:2:2 10bit 60p files.
Take not that the buffers are full running at 1/2 resolution.
At 1/2 resolution, I'm running < 50% (not 10bit, though). Yeah -- the GH5 would be nice, but the timing just didn't work for me. That said, my HC-X1's "parfocal" electronics blitzed out on me last night :( so I'm feeling a little burned. The GH5 doesn't do UHD 10bit 60p, does it?! Does it really have the dynamic range in UHD at that framerate?

I just looked at the file under Media Info and the 60p's are 8bit and the 30p's are 10bit. The project was 10bit.
It will do 10bit 60p with an external recorder.http://www.newsshooter.com/2017/02/0...-sample-video/

I don't have a 4K output television or an I/O card to see the range. But, I know Pat
looked at these clips on his Samsung 4k and he said they were stunning.

You don't have to overclock to use water cooling. I have put water cooling in all the systems that I have built since 2011.

Yeah, but the HC-X1/UX180 has about 6 stable bits (eyeballed), and as much as the GH5 is an improvement, I don't think it has 4 extra. Likely the first 8 bits are very pretty, though.

The 1[87]00X read 20C high, so they actually run pretty cool just on air, and they don't OC well, so :meh:. That said, AMD apparently has another two revs of the chips they're holding close, so I'm expecting things will look even better a few months from now (I got one now because editing 4k on my 860 was just NOT going to happen).
