Edius 7.5 fully supports the Intensity Shuttle. Edius 8 does not. Keep that in mind.

Thanks Jerry, wow, had no idea.
May I ask for elaboration? The Edius 8 FAQ sheet says it supports BM IS, so what might be the concerns?

Also, if there is an issue, can I have both Edius 7 & 8 installed on the same system?

One last item, I assume you're running BM software version 10.5.4 on your Windows 10 system?

Thanks for all your help.

I just moved to Windows 10 and Edius 8 with a Shuttle and the 10.54 drivers work for me. The 10.68 drivers did not work so I went down to the 10.54.

These drivers fixed some crackling I was having as well.

We recommend people stick with 10.5.4 drivers for all Blackmagic devices for now as we have had issues with later ones. We have been told recently that Grass Valley do not officially support the Shuttle any more and will be changing their web pages to reflect this because it has many problems on different systems.

I think many of these problems are due to the Shuttle itself having problems with lots of systems - for example ,I can never get it to work with Avid Media Composer properly.

If you have the Shuttle working that is great, but Grass Valley are not promising it will work, at least that is my understanding.

Good input. Is the system preset for the Shuttle still present in E8 (versus going through direct show)?

Is it possible to have E8 and E7 on the same system?

EDIUS 8 hardware preview and capture works exactly the same as EDIUS 7. The same capture presets should still work although on principle I tend to make new ones when any program changes a version.

EDIUS 8 will remove EDIUS 7 when installed. I believe you can reinstall 7 afterwards and then both work but it is not recommended. A bit like the shuttle - if you do it and still have problems its your own problem. I have never tried this as I am happy with EDIUS 8.
