Default FCB works on up to date MB with Z77 chipset

I build a new system with an up to date Motherboard with Z77 chipset. The FCB works fine on a PCIe 3.0 X8 Slot (X8 in X16).
It does not work on a PCIe 2.0 X1 Slot on the same MB.

Why bother with it when you have quicksync?

QuickSync is also available on the system - with FCB you have the choice between AVCHD and MPEG2 HD rendering.

The question is now which method creates the best quality ?

Out of interest which model and make of motherboard are you using? You say FireCoder and Quicksync work - how do you choose which one to use in disc-burner?

ASUS P8Z77-V Premium - FCB is in Slot 2.
Disc burner and encoding method has nothing to do with each other in my case.
I always create a BD - ISO(based on QuickSync encoding or based on FCB encoding) which is burned afterwards with IMGBurn.

I think David was more for an check on your part to see if it offered a choice in burn to disc between quick sync and FCB.

Yes I was meaning when you look at the encoding settings of the sequence in disc creator (ie when you are laying out the disc in EDIUS) there is only one use hardware tick box. How do you know which one it is using? Or are there two tick boxes?
