Default Latest update locked me out of EDIUS v8.22v0623

EDIUS v8.22v0623 download available (login required)

Now I understand why people don't update programs when they're working perfectly fine.

I updated edius 8 and it asked me for my serial number (it's never asked that on an update before) I did that but it is coming up with "EDIUS ERROR CODE 40AE.0.1D4FE.C4"
so I deactivated the license from the license list then uninstalled edius reinstalled edius asked for my serial number says it is valid then it asks me to sign in to edius ID then pops up the license is invalid please contact technical support.
Now everytime I try and open it, it accepts the serial number but then it says my edius ID login is incorrect and the license is invalid.
But it is correct I checked it 20000 times!
spent the afternoon on the phone with grassvally and back and forth emails yesterday but now a case number was created and a technical support engineer from Grass Valley will be contacting me in regards to this case.
I don't see this getting fixed anytime soon.
PLEASE FIX IT!
I have a dead line on a project end of the week and I'm going to have to finish it in Premiere pro!

This is an unusual error code that means your serial key is inactive on the server. PM your serial number to me and I will get it checked.

I am also experiencing this problem. Today, for the 4th time since WG 8.22

Usually
- I start Edius
- Edius prompts me to enter the serial number
- I do not(!) get an error code
- At this stage, GV license manager shows NO licence to be processed.
- Now, Edius prompts me to enter my Edius ID password, but won't accept it.
- After some two or three attempts, it suddenly starts Edius and pretends that everything is fine.
- GV license manager now shows a licence for Edius 8.00 (repeat: 8.00(!) - instead of 8.22)

Today, the behaviour was different: right from the start a window popped up and told me my licence was invalid and I should contact technical support. Then it would do nothing. On my second attempt to start Edius, it switched back to the behaviour described above.

I don't need to tell you that this is irritating, needlessly time-consuming, and also frightning in terms of reliability.

So, shall I also PM you my serial number for a check, or is there a more general solution in case other users experience the same or similar problem?

Additionally, a year ago it was stated (although only unofficially) that GV was planning to roll up the whole chaotic licensing process by dealing with one personal ID thing. Is there any progress on that issue?

it is normal to see 8.00 in license manager, I see the same

when EDIUS fails to start, is the license missing in license manager? or is the license manager missing

I already had several cases with customers where license manager failed to start and as a result these license popups started happening (all were 8 Pro) (does not happen in 8 WG)

go to run and type msconfig, go to startup tab and see if GV license manager is ticked

I contacting you for my license issue and did purchase Grass Valley EDIUS Pro 8 few days ago from mync.shop

But since yesterday i getting error that invalid license and can not access to the desktop software in my PC , Error code is 40AE.0.1D4FE.C4.please kindly consider my request for what is error means and i should what to do now?

Hmmm. I was not aware that you could buy EDIUS from the Mync website. Did you get an email from GV?

I think you should contact them at their support email as they suggested at the end of their note to you.
