Default Delete All Clips on K2

A common question:

If I want to retrive as much memory/space as possible out of the K2, each time I go to prepare for our next event, what's the fastest way to do it? Like is there any sort of equivelant to "clearing clips" on the EVS?

The clip content is best managed by the K2 Dyno. By selecting "Delete Session" at the startup prior to starting a new session guarantees clean up of the drives and allocates all available space for the new session. The most recent release of software, now being beta tested and due out Nov.2012, fixes an File System Management tool that allowed some data to hang on to a clip and therefore prevent a session from being deleted. As always, please read the release notes for each new Software release version that addresses which issues are fixed in that release.

Default Delete All Clips

What version of Dyno/Summit are you running?

Try one of two things.

With AppCenter running in Channel View(4 channels stacked on the left and the Library on the right) Go to the upper right and select "LOOK IN" and choose "Organize Bins." A window opens, select "Recycle Bin." To the left of that, check-box "Remove items immediately when deleted." This will empty the recycle bin when you quit AppCenter each time. In later releases, this is automatically done and does not require the check-box.

OR - ONLY if you have permission, open Windows Explorer, select the V: drive, open Media folder, open Dyno folder, select the sessions you do not want and right-click Delete.(only do this to sessions that you have attemted to delete from the Dyno controller interface first.) Go back one step to the Dyno folder and empty the contents in the Recycle bin as well. Back out all the way to the desktop and empty the Desktop Recycle Bin, restart the Summit.

If you want to fully clear the drives completely, and not keep anything at all. (WILL FULLY WIPE THE DRIVES CLEAN) Create a new File System using the Storage Utility tool. This is something only the EIC should do, and requires passwords. Instructions can be found in the Service Manual.
