EDIUS 6 will edit the files you have from EDIUS 4.
Maybe just load some from disk and try EDIUS 6?
You can also capture via OHCI.
You have options .....

Default Have drivers - problem with output from NHX-E1 card

Hi again, I managed to track down drivers to get the NHX-E1 card working with the demo version, want to check it out fully as I missed the upgrade price due to illness, and 600 is a lot of money to pay for an upgrade (I have version 4) Anyway, have it set up now, and is capturing fine via the card, but won't output, when I change the output settings to the NHX-E1 Edius just locks up. Is this a bug in 6.03 that has been solved? Am I doing something wrong, could it be because I am using the demo the drivers I have are not meant to work with the demo and are causing this?

Thanks again in advance. Henryk.

The demo version is not intended to be used like that. Sorry.

The full release of EDIUS 6 which included the drivers for the NX will work as expected. With correct out via the NX

HDV can be captured with any standsrd "of the shelf" OHCI (firewire 400) connection.

Default Problem capturing with NX-E1

Well, I went ahead and bought Edius 6, have updated to 6.06, the thing won't see my camera, yeas I have been through all the set up tutorials, am setting it up in system settings, had no problem with the demo, (or Edius 4 for that matter) but the updated version just won't see the camera, OHCI or HDV - have tried half a dozen times, any ideas anyone?

Yes, I made a device preset, don't understand this at all, went from the demo, which I managed to find drivers for for NXE1, it was capturing fine but would not output to my TV. Now I can't capture at all, Edius 6.06 just does not see the camera at all.

Default Now a lock up

Got the camera seen by Edius, I did a clean install of Windows 7 prior to installing Edius today, for some reason I had to update the 1394 drivers, captures perfectly now, but won't play back. When I add clips to the timeline I can't see them in the preview window and Edius eventually locks up. The Journey begins........
